English (Functional Skills)

Are you looking to improve your English reading and writing skills?

Do you need an English qualification to get a job or a promotion?

If your answer to any of these questions is yes, then this course is right for you. 

Our English courses are FREE regardless of your age (residency conditions apply). Classes may be available in the morning, afternoon and evenings.

Prior to starting the course you will need to have an assessment to check your level of English. Once assessed you will be able to enrol and a start date will be confirmed.

If English is not your first language and you have not been resident in the UK for the last 5 years, please apply for ESOL

Important Notice

Please note that all classes and courses are subject to minimum numbers. If there are too few enrolments, the College may cancel the class. A place on your chosen course is not confirmed until enrolment is complete.

You will need to attend an interview and assessment before joining this course.

After you have achieved your qualification you may go on to the next level or onto a vocational course. These courses show you have reached a national standard which will give you confidence to move to the next level.
