Modern Slavery Statement

Modern Slavery Statement 2022

City College has an established set of values which all staff and students are committed to. The College is committed to running its business responsibly and in accordance with the high standards stated in its core values.

Our core values include the statements ‘We aspire for everyone to achieve their full potential’ and ‘We treat each other with respect and dignity’. Slavery and human trafficking are plainly incompatible with these values.

Our Commitment

We are committed to ensuring that modern slavery and human trafficking have no place in our business or our supply chain. We expect the same high standards from our suppliers and those we work with.

Our Procurement Policy helps us to consider issues around modern slavery and human trafficking with our suppliers.

We will work with our principal suppliers to ensure that our approach to slavery and human trafficking is reflected in all our purchases of goods and services so that neither we nor they are involved in any way, either directly or indirectly, in slavery and human trafficking.

Activity in the next 12 months:

The Procurement Team will require all new suppliers to confirm they are taking steps to ensure that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place within their businesses and supply chains. The terms and conditions for the purchase of all goods and services (contained within the purchase order) will also include the same statement.

Approval:

This statement was agreed in June 2022 by the Senior Management Team and will be reviewed by them annually.

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our College’s slavery and human trafficking statement for the academic year ending 31st July 2023.
