Do you want to learn how to fix and maintain heavy vehicles?
We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and practical individual who is keen to pursue a career in Vehicle Maintenance to join the Vehicle Workshop Team as an Apprentice.
To be successful in this apprenticeship you will need to be committed to achieving your apprenticeship qualification and take ownership for your own learning and development.
You will learn a broad range of vehicle maintenance skills and be fully supported with both on-the job training and one day a week at College. As well as maintaining the council’s own fleet of vehicles, we also offer an MOT service to the public so you will also learn this aspect of our business.
Roles and Responsibilites
You must have good communication skills and be confident speaking to staff and customers. You must be able to take guidance and follow set systems and procedures that are in place.
You will be fully supported in your role and as this role will involve varied tasks with potential competing deadlines, we will also help you develop key work skills such as prioritisation, team working and communication skills. You should have basic IT skills and be comfortable working in a busy environment.
Skills Required
We work to set systems and procedures which you must be able to follow, whilst also being keen to share ideas for improvements. You should have good communication skill
Qualifications
GCSE Grade C and above in English and Maths.
