Life at City College

Being a student at City College is more than just attending

There's always something going on

Being a student at City College is more than just attending college each week and there’s always something going on to get involved in.

What’s more we are located in the heart of Southampton so it’s really easy to get to college and you are able to enjoy the fantastic facilities on your doorstep.

Great Location

Being in the centre of Southampton the college is very easy to get to with excellent transport links by bus, train, ferry, bike or car. The city centre shops, cafes and amenities are all within a 15 minute walk through the parks from college so there are plenty of places to grab some lunch or catch up with friends between lessons.

Learner Voice

We want to make sure you have a fantastic experience at City College and the best person to ensure we are providing this is you!

We will proactively engage providing feedback in a number of ways, from online surveys, to tutorials and even focus groups with our Principal. By doing this we aim to ensure that students contribute towards our development and growth and are at the centre of everything that we do at City College.

Enrichment is the name for all the activities, clubs, trips and visits available at college which are additional to your academic courses.

Take advantage of the many opportunities available to discover new interests, develop new skills and have fun. Enrichment activities will add to your CV and can enhance your university application.

An example is water sports activities run by SWAC which can include windsurfing, paddle boarding and speedboat racing.

Student Council

The most important person to our college is you, the learner. You are at the centre of all we do, and we need you to tell us what we do well and what we can do better.

City College has a Student Council of representatives from every tutor group led by a President who is voted in to post by the student body along with supporting Officers.

The council meets regularly to represent the students of the college and voice any concerns to senior staff members.
