This summer, City College students have achieved another successful set of results in level 3 technical professional courses helping them to progress to university or to high quality apprenticeships in their chosen careers.

A 100% pass rate was achieved in many subject areas including Marine, Engineering and Electrical, Health and Social Care, Performing Arts and Media, Travel and Tourism, and Hospitality.

Principal Sarah Stannard said, "City College congratulates all our successful students and wishes them every success for their future, either at university or at work.  It’s important that students who have studied technical professional subjects are recognised for their achievements alongside those who have followed more traditional subjects, as their journey is equally challenging and rewarding.  As demand for sector specific skills increases within certain industries, at City College we pride ourselves in preparing individuals for work or for progression to university to help them realise their ambitions".

Charlotte Churchill, age 18, studied Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts and achieved a triple distinction. She is now progressing to a BA Degree in Performance & Theatre Arts at Richmond American International University, London.

"I've developed many different methods of acting during my course and have learned a considerable amount about the industry and how best to get into it, thanks to the expert teachers. The course is recognised by all Universities and specialist Drama Schools so my choices for progression were huge. The Higher Education Advisor helped me research the best options and helped with my applications, and I'm over the moon that I've been offered a place at my first choice."

Mohamed Khalif, age 19, studied Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering and achieved a distinction and two merits. He is now progressing to the University of Portsmouth to do a BEng (Hons) in Civil Engineering.

"The industry expert tutors and hands on course has given me excellent experience, increased my confidence, and has opened up my opportunities for either going into work or progressing to University. The College’s Higher Education Advisor supported me throughout the daunting task of the UCAS application process and dedicated time to help me write my personal statement. I now feel fully prepared for going to the next level of study at University."
