WestQuay and City College are spicing up Autumn, by launching a funded cooking class with local TV chef, restaurant owner and MasterChef champion, Shelina Permalloo.
Targeted at Southampton’s low-income individuals and elderly members of the community, residents can register their interest to take part in the cookery classes through a written application process and successful candidates will be chosen to attend the session at City College Southampton. A voluntary donation towards the Haiti appeal is encouraged for those that take part - https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Hammerson75
During the class, Shelina will be providing top tips on cooking on a budget, insight into how to make food go further and how to make the perfect meal for one. Participants will also receive a signed copy of Shelina’s brand new recipe book 'The Sunshine Diet', which explains how to eat more healthily without compromising on flavour. Shelina owns Lakaz Maman in Bedford Place.
The class will take place from 10:00am to 1:00pm on Friday 27th October 2017. Those interested should contact Jon Brookes, Community Manager at Hammerson at firstname.lastname@example.org or ring 020 7887 1873 to receive an application form.
Jon Brookes, Community Manager at Hammerson, said: "We are delighted to offer these classes to the residents of Southampton in partnership with Shelina. We are committed to supporting our community and encouraging people to hone their creative skills and we hope Shelina's signature sunny recipes will help brighten up the winter, whilst providing some useful and practical cookery guidance for our residents."
