This summer, our students have once again achieved a very successful set of results in their Level 3 courses (equivalent to A-levels). Many of these students are confidently progressing to university as their next step with others going on to high-quality apprenticeships and direct employment in their chosen careers.

Congratulations to all of our Level 3 students and we wish them all the best for their future careers.

Level 3 Theatrical Hair and Media Make-up student Ellie (previously Testwood School) is just one of our students who feels that her course has really prepared her for university.

She commented: “I love being able to do something creative and as I’m interested in fashion make-up this course was great for me, especially with the fashion show. My teachers are really skilled which really helped me learn new make-up techniques and build my confidence. I feel prepared to go to university now."

Ellie is progressing to study a BA (Hons) Make-Up and Hair Design at Solent University.

Harrison, from Testwood School, is progressing to Arts University Bournemouth to study BA (Hons) in Acting after completing his Level 3 in Performing Arts. He explained: "I chose to study here because it felt the most professional. College is completely different from school as it is more work-focused. I learnt a lot about the industry skills that you need to succeed and being able to learn with people that also enjoy the same thing is great."

Britney always had a passion for science and came to us from Priestlands School to study Level 3 Forensics and Criminal Investigation. She shared that “The teacher was very passionate and really knew what he was talking about which inspired me.  The freedom and responsibility to get myself through my assignments has been really motivating, it is very different to school, I do feel it has prepared me for university”

After achieveing a triple distinction Britney is now progressing to a BSc (Hons) Criminology and Forensic Studies at Portsmouth University.

Aaron studied Level 3 Production Arts with us and chose to specialise in lighting design.

Aaron came to us from Wildern school and about his experience at college he said: “The custom-built theatre and atmosphere made this course amazing. Having everything I needed to learn at my fingers tips and getting to work on shows across the year really meant I learnt the correct processes for the industry. The teacher always provided lots of feedback which meant I could push myself and achieve.”

Aaron is pursuing his dream of going to drama school this September to study FdA Theatre Production Arts: Lighting at Mountview.

Lauren spoke to us about her time at college studying for her Level 3 Media (TV &Film). She achieved a fantastic triple distinction star and succeeded in her dreams of securing a place on the prestigious Grierson DocLab Training Scheme (About Grierson Trust) as well as working as a Production Assistant for Flicker Productions.

She shared “My time at college has played an essential role in my passion for the Film & TV industry and has given me the skills and confidence to progress forward in this creative field. I really enjoyed the creative freedom and variety provided by each brief; it has allowed me to focus on the skills that I would like to develop. I was also supported by my teachers who had significant experience in the industry, they have been able to provide me with a great insight into the industry and its standards.”
