This summer, our students have once again achieved a very successful set of results in their Level 3 courses (equivalent to A-levels). Many of these students are confidently progressing to university as their next step with others going on to high-quality apprenticeships and direct employment in their chosen careers.

Congratulations to all of our Level 3 students and we wish them all the best for their future careers.

Level 3 Theatrical Hair and Media Make-up student Ellie (previously Testwood School) is just one of our students who feels that her course has really prepared her for university.

She commented: “I love being able to do something creative and as I’m interested in fashion make-up this course was great for me, especially with the fashion show. My teachers are really skilled which really helped me learn new make-up techniques and build my confidence. I feel prepared to go to university now."

Ellie is progressing to study a BA (Hons) Make-Up and Hair Design at Solent University.

Harrison, from Testwood School, is progressing to Arts University Bournemouth to study BA (Hons) in Acting after completing his Level 3 in Performing Arts. He explained: "I chose to study here because it felt the most professional. College is completely different from school as it is more work-focused. I learnt a lot about the industry skills that you need to succeed and being able to learn with people that also enjoy the same thing is great."

Aaron studied Level 3 Production Arts with us and chose to specialise in lighting design.

Aaron came to us from Wildern school and about his experience at college he said: “The custom-built theatre and atmosphere made this course amazing. Having everything I needed to learn at my fingers tips and getting to work on shows across the year really meant I learnt the correct processes for the industry. The teacher always provided lots of feedback which meant I could push myself and achieve.”

Aaron is pursuing his dream of going to drama school this September to study FdA Theatre Production Arts: Lighting at Mountview.

I really enjoyed the creative freedom and variety provided by each brief; it has allowed me to focus on the skills that I would like to develop. I was also supported by my teachers who had significant experience in the industry, they have been able to provide me with a great insight into the industry and its standards.”
