City College students proved they have the cutting-edge by being selected for the Wella XPOSURE 2016 Regional Heats.

Seven hairdressing students demonstrated their hair flair to get through to the southern heat, to be held in Bristol in April.

Adult and full-time students coloured and cut models’ hair and applied make-up before taking part in a photo session at the college. The ten best shots were sent to Wella’s judging panel and seven were selected for the next stage.

Rebecca Murray, Hair Learning Manager at City College Southampton, said: "This is the best we’ve ever done in the competition - the students worked very hard and their talent has been recognised by the professionals at Wella.

“We’re very excited about taking part in the regional heat and hope to go all the way to the final. City College prides itself on producing highly-skilled hairdressing students.”
