Information for new applicants

New student communications:

School leavers and full-time applicants

College induction - We will be emailing all new and progressing full-time students with information on induction, financial support (Bursary) and Covid-19 safety measures on Wednesday 2nd September.

Results 2020 - students with offers for full-time courses will be sent instructions to enrol online these will be with you within a few days after results.

You do not need to contact the college about your results. Please upload your results as part of the enrolment process, we will then contact you about your course and the date of your induction.

If you did not get the grades you were expecting you should reply to the enrolment email and tell us your results. The departments Learning Manager or course tutor will ring you to discuss your options.

If you have changed your mind about what you wish to study please email admissions@southampton-city.ac.uk.

We will accept what schools have provided for BTEC results. If you have not been given a BTEC grade but you have your GCSE results we would suggest that you enrol and provide the evidence for these, we can update your enrollment once BTEC's are finalised.

Summer Project - To help you to prepare for college work and life, we have created preparation projects for you to work on this summer. These projects will help give you an idea of what to expect from your course and to help get you ready for study at college in September. To access your summer project, please go to: https://www.southampton-city.ac.uk/preparing-for-college/

Emails have been sent to all of our new full-time students (Year 11 & 12 students) who have applied for a study programme starting this September, as below. Joining instructions will be emailed at the end of July.

Late applications and interviews

If you've applied but not yet had an interview, don't worry!  We will be in contact to arrange an interview for early September.

Late applications for a September 2020 start are still being taken via our website, with interviews being held early September. We would encourage you to apply as soon as possible to ensure you can be interviewed in a timely manner. Late applications could result in not being able to secure you a place on your chosen course.

If you have any queries about your college application, please email admissions@southampton-city.ac.uk with your full name, date of birth and course applied for. We will then get in touch with you to answer your question.
