The course is aimed at adults who may have been made redundant, want a career change or wish to return to employment after a career break. The Care Industry is a fast growing sector which demands a minimum of a level 2 qualification to work within it. This can be a barrier to many without a job or appropriate experience just trying to get the first 'foot on the ladder'.
This level 1 course offers the insight into the Care Industry without the need to have a work placement. Introducing you to the roles and responsibilities of working in the adult social care sector. During the course, candidates will have the opportunity to meet other people, develop their knowledge and skills as well as improve their employability to progress further. We will support you in creating an up-to-date CV and give you the best chances of gaining employment.
We have industry expert teachers delivering the course with opportunities to meet employers offering various job opportunities at the end of the course.

All assessment is assignment based. You will continually be assessed in the classroom through a range of activities that include: discussions, question and answer sessions, peer and self-assessment, observation, case studies, practical exercises and your assignment.
Frequency will be determined by the level of interest. This has been and continues to be a popular course. Any work submitted to your tutor will result in constructive feedback to help you develop your skills, confidence and knowledge. There are no exams.
There are no set entry requirements. This course is aimed at the unemployed who wish to gain a qualification to be able to work in the Adult Social Care sector. This is advantageous to those who do not have a job or voluntary work, as a work placement at this level is not required. However, students can use the experience to gain access to a range of voluntary opportunities as a progression route. Many students will gain employment as a direct result of this course through networking with other learners and accessing employers.
No interview is required for this course. We will email you information about how to complete your enrolment when we receive your application. Evidence of benefits/salary will be required.
This will enable you to progress to Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care, although to do this course you will need to be in a paid position within the sector to enable work setting assessment to take place.
