About the course

Hair colour correction in salons is in great demand from clients requiring solutions to their colour problems. Colour problems can occur no matter how experienced you are. This course will provide you the opportunity to develop your advanced correction skills and knowledge to meet these demands.

The more skills and knowledge you develop the more in demand your skills will be as a colourist.

What you will learn

This Level 4 course is ideal if you're an experienced hairdresser or barber and want to gain skills in colour correction.

You will complete one core unit. Your assessor will mark you on each of the practical tasks you undertake.

  • Remove bands of colour or seepage
  • Remove a full head of artificial colour and re-colour hair
  • Restore depth and tone
  • Service of own choice

Colour correction theory knowledge will be delivered and assessed through written assignments consisting of 3 separate tasks.

Entry requirements
  • Level 3 qualification in hairdressing and/or barbering
  • You will be required to attend an interview at the College prior to enrolling onto the course
What next?
  • Ability to offer bespoke colour services within the salon environment
  • Progression onto other level 4 awards
Additional information

Students are required to wear smart black trousers and shirt, flat closed toe shoes.

Equipment required: A head block / brush and comb tools / sectioning clips.
