About the course
Equivilent to 3 A-levels this is a recognised route to university and is the second year of the level 3 sport, fitness and exercise qualification.
The qualification is for those who wish to develop their skills and knowledge for working in the sport sector. This course will provide you with an opportunity to build on your knowledge developed during the diploma (first year of study).
You could seek employment in the sector directly after achieving the qualification, or could progress to an undergraduate degree at university and then onto employment.
What you will learn
This course will extend your levels of technical knowledge through practical application in a sport, exercise and fitness.
You will be expected to plan, deliver and evaluate a number of practical sessions with the aim of promoting positive progress in performance.
This course suits a broad range of learning styles and abilities and would be particularly enjoyable for you if you have a rounded interest in sport and fitness.
Fully equipped gym plus use of a number of off-site facilities, including:
- Solent sports hall
- Woodmill Activity Centre
- Southampton Golf Club
- Lordshill sports fields
- Pound for Pound boxing
- St Mary's Stadium
- 5 GCSEs grade A*-C/9-4 (including English and maths), and
- Level 3 Diploma in Sport and working at Level 2 in English and maths
You will be required to attend an interview at the College prior to enrolling onto this course.
