About this course
This accredited qualification is aimed at 19+ ESOL learners who are new to using IT and would like to pursue a career in a job requiring IT skills or for further study in IT or accounting.
The qualification will allow ESOL learners to apply knowledge, understanding and skills to a level of competency that employers will recognise.
Prior to starting the course, you will need to have an assessment to check your level of English. Once you have been assessed you will be able to enrol and a start date will be confirmed.

What you will learn
During this course, you will learn to improve productivity using IT. You will learn to use appropriate IT systems and software to meet your requirements, use them efficiently to complete set tasks and then review your selection to make sure that your work activities were successful.
This qualification includes units on the use of spreadsheet and accounting software so that you can progress to the Association of Accounting (AAT) offered at the college or complete a further IT qualification.
This course includes ESOL Level 1 eight hours a week which will help you to your English skills in Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing at the same time.
To ensure you are on the right course we will give you an assessment to check your English language level, you should be working to Entry 3 or above for this course.
You will also need a basic understanding of computers and maths.
You will be required to attend an interview prior to enrolling onto the course.
