The Level 2 CMI qualification in Team Leading offers a highly flexible approach to learning and is designed for practising or aspiring team leaders who wish to develop their team leading skills and knowledge. There is a broad range of units available allowing employers and individuals to tailor the size and elements of the qualification to suit their specific needs.

Our Level 2 Certificate in Team Leading enables you to develop your knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of a team leader by focusing on specific skills areas.

If you're a local resident and work in retail, customer service or hospitality or related occupations, you are eligible to receive this leadership training for free. Hammerson are offering fully funded management courses as part of their commitment to the city in partnership with City College Southampton.

Course start date: Tuesday 17th May

The course will be on Tuesday nights, 6pm-9pm at City College for 10 weeks up to the end of July with a break in August. The course will then resume for a further 10 weeks starting in September.

Assessment

Assessment is normally via practical work-based assignments. This ensures you minimise time away from work and that you undertake work study which is relevant to your own organisation's context.

Entry requirements

You will be required to attend an interview at the College prior to enrolling onto the course.

What next?

On successful completion of a Level 2 qualification in Team Leading, a number of progression opportunities become available:

  • Enhance your professional status by upgrading your CMI membership
  • Progress to the Level 2 Diploma in Team Leading
  • Progress to other qualifications such as the Level 3 Award, Certificate or Diploma in First Line Management
  • Apply to become a Chartered Manager
