Do you have a keen interest in baking, a love of bread or just fancy learning a new skill?

This short Bakery Bonanza evening course will introduce you to the art of bakery. You will learn how to follow professional recipes, making delicious products that you can replicate at home to enjoy with friends and family.

The course takes place in a commercial teaching environment, led by a fully trained baker and confectioner, who will provide you with hints and tips on how to get the best from your baking.

You will also be able to listen to bakery processes and techniques explained in a relaxed and friendly environment.

This short course will cover a variety of different techniques and skills.

No experience is necessary. All abilities welcome.

All equipment and ingredients are provided. Best of all you get to take all your products home!

Important Notice

Please note that all courses are subject to minimum numbers. If there are too few enrolments, the College may cancel the course. A place on your chosen course is not confirmed until enrolment is complete and any relevant fees are paid.

There is no funding available for this course, so all students will be required to pay the full course fee. 

The course fee must be paid at least 3 weeks before start date.

You will learn how to follow recipes, and to prepare and bake the following:

  • Cheese and herb scones
  • Lemon drizzle scones
  • Fancy bread rolls
  • Three and four plait milk bread
  • Sultana and walnut farm house bread
  • Tea cakes
  • Chelsea buns
  • Lemon swirls
  • Wholemeal seed loaf
  • Wiltshire lardy cakes
  • Focaccia and pitta bread

You will also be provided with a recipe book containing all the information you need to re-create your products at home.

All of the learning is completed through practical sessions using the college’s new kitchen facilities. 

The classes are led by our own professional baker and delivered in a relaxed setting. There are no assessments or written work and a college certificate will be awarded on completion.

There are no specific entry requirements for this course, just a love of baking. Some students are already baking at home but want to improve their skills, while other students are complete beginners. All abilities are welcome.

No interview is required for this course. We will email you information about how to pay and complete your enrolment when we receive your application. Your place is not secure until payment has been received.

Everything will be provided for you but please remember to bring containers/bag to take home your bakery goods. If you want to bring your own apron you can but a disposable one will be provided.
