Wage:

£168 per week with performance increases available for the right candidate.

The working week will be 40 hours:

(Mon to Fri – 7.30 – 4pm including lunch/ breaks)

Vacancy Description

Apprentice Painter & Decorator working on sites alongside completing the apprenticeship studying at College.

The Apprentice will be working towards all aspects of Painting & Decorating including:

• Read blueprints/instructions and examine surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary
• Make on-site preparations 
• Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint etc.
• Fill cracks and holes with appropriate material (e.g. filler)
• Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right colour or texture
• Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools
• Apply varnish and other finishes
• Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions

Things to think about
The role involves working in a variety of sites so living in the Millbrook, Lordshill or Totton areas would be an advantage in regards to travel. The role is a physical one with 8 hour shifts.

Qualifications
English and Maths GCSE at grade 4/C or above is desirable for this Apprenticeship. We will ask for evidence of this when applying.
