Vacancy Description
Driving Licence and own transport preferred, but not essential. Transport to site is normally arranged but they will need to get to a pick up point.
Initially employed for a probation period, leading up to September 2021, then enrolled with Southampton College if suitable. To work with and assist skilled trades persons in the day to day installation and repair duties. This will involve the refurbishment of plantroom, removals and installation. Installation of multiple pipework installation, learning and understanding how to measure and prepare pipework, working with mild steel tube and screwed fittings, copper tube and soldered/press fit fittings and plastic waste pipework with solvent and push fit fittings, whilst installing and modifying chilled water, LTHW Heating, domestic services and soil and waste pipework. They would be taught how to use a rigid machine. The majority of the works will be for Amey Defence, across the South West and South East region, on numerous RAF Bases as well as schools and office blocks outside of the camp. Initial training would be provided for Asbestos Awareness, Working at Heights, Manual Handling, Pasma, IPAF, along with in house health and safety training with our SHEQ Manager. Assistance to acquire a CSCS Card would be given.

A* to C in English and Maths. We will ask for Maths and English certificates as evidence when you apply.
The apprentice will need to be Reading based to work with our Reading based Foreman. They will travel together. The works maybe on one of numerous sites along the M4 Corridor, as far North as Oxford/Milton Keynes, as far South as Southampton.Works are also undertaken in London.
