Join Reuby & Stagg at our busy office in Ringwood as an Apprentice Civil Engineer CAD Technician and gain your Level 3 Civil Engineering BTEC and NVQ. Engineering CAD technicians provide technical support to a team of 7 Civil Engineers who design, build and manage construction projects.  These projects could be in several different construction sectors including infrastructure, residential, commercial and transport.

 Job Role & Responsibilities

  • Producing design drawings
  • Preparing detailed estimates and producing information on the quantity and type of materials to be used
  • Communicating with clients via telephone, letters and e-mail
  • Writing and/or contributing to reports issued to clients.
  • Be part of an engineering design team
  • Producing detailed dimensional drawings
  • Producing design layouts
  • Producing project reports to client and national specifications and guidelines as required gaining local authority approval and allowing site construction
  • Producing CAD drawings
  • Preparation of simple calculations
  • Supporting the administration of projects
  • Ensuring outputs meet the required standards
  • Meeting agreed deadlines
  • Maintaining drawing register
  • Working as a member of a team
  • Contributing to providing solutions to problems
  • Occasional accompanied site visits and attendance at meetings
  • Report/confer directly with your supervisor on design decisions, determine project details and priorities.

Qualifications required

5 GCSE’s at grades A*-C or 9-5 (or equivalent) in English, Maths and at least one science
