Apprentice Technician- MOET

Wage:

£12, 500 per annum.
Monday to Friday : 8.00am – 4:30pm
Total hours 40 per week 

Vacancy Description

The Apprentice Technician will join Faerch Manufacturing and Maintenance departments, undertaking structured academic study and practical onsite training to increase knowledge and skills within the Engineering field, with focus in either Mechanical Maintenance, Electrical Maintanence or Process Engineering.   

As the Apprentice Technician, you will rotate within the departments of the business to observe, learn and understand a wide range of manufacturing and maintenance techniques, skills and processes within Extrusion, Thermoform, Print, Tooling, Maintenance and Process Engineering, while under instruction of skilled technical staff.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • You will develop the skills to maintain machinery and equipment, either in a mechanical or electrical discipline, within the departments maintenance and servicing plan, and machinery breakdowns.
  • You will develop knowledge of the entire manufacturing process in process development and mapping, trouble shooting machine and manufacturing issues and problem solving.
  • You will support continuous improvement projects within the business, within manufacturing and maintenance.
  • You will be able to demonstate skills and processes learnt as the training programme progresses by working within the team, or independently, to undertake tasks as instructied and inceasing your overall contrinution to the department.
  • You will learn and understand the importance of Health and Safety within the workplace, and increase your awareness of our environmental impact.
  • You will understake and successfully complete the academic study with the chosen provider throughout the training period, achieving the academic grades and practical skills for yearly progression leading towards the Level 3 MOET qualification.
  • You will maintain a logbook over the duration of the apprenticehip, recording projects that have been undertaken and skills learned.
  • You will maintain and ensure good housekeeping of the workplace.
  • You will maintain a smart appearance onsite wearing the assigned PPE and act in a professional manner at all times whether onsite or offsite.
  • You will perform other duties that are appropriate to your experience and skill of your position.

Skills Required

  • Experience of an engineering environment is desired but not essential.
  • You must be able to follow verbal instruction.
  • You must be punctual, reliable, have a friendly, positive outlook with a good team ethic.

Qualifications  

You need to have an A* to C to be put forward to the company.
