Wage

Hours of work 7:45am – 4:15pm Monday-Thursday.
6:45am – 3:15pm Friday.
There is a 30 minute lunch break at 13:00-13:30 everyday.
Hours of work are 40hrs per week. 4 weeks annual Holiday paid, plus statutory Holidays.

Total hours per week: 40
Wages TBC based on candidates qualifications.

Vacancy Description

Initial daily tasks would involve understanding Technical Drawings, deburring machined components, Packaging of finished parts. The successful applicant will be assigned a Training manager, throughout the 4 year apprenticeship and will report to our Work Manager for day to day tasks undertaken.

Roles and Responsibilities

We are offering two apprenticeships for the following: -

To work in a Machine shop where the core business is machined parts, for the Aerospace, Nuclear, F1, Marine, Defence & related Industries. Applicant shall have attained good pass levels (Grades 5 & above) in Maths, English & Science.

We offer a 4 Year Apprenticeship, with Day Release at the City College, Southampton.

You will be trained to Operate, Set & Program CNC machines and general machining practices over the 4-year term

Skills Required


You must enjoy working as part of a team and be prepared to go the ‘extra mile’.
You must be able to follow both written and verbal instruction.
 
Personal qualities


You must be punctual, reliable, have a positive outlook and have an eye for detail.
You must have a definite interest in Engineering.

Qualifications 

The candidate must have A* to C in English and Maths to be considered for this vacancy.
