Wage

£5.00 Per Hour (Starting wage)

Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm
35 hour week

Vacancy Description

Working within a very experienced team,you will be learning all aspects of Boatbuilding within a professional and friendly team. The team prides its self on high quality work for its clients, excellent customer service and has gained an enviable reputation. The role will at first combine an element of ‘shadowing’ your mentor as you embark on your career and develop your skills and knowledge. 

  • A keen and passionate candidate willing to develop themselves and new skills within the yachting and motorboat industry
  • On the job training in manufacture, production, refit of yachts and associated services
  • Working with an experienced team, support always available whilst on the job
  • Exciting refit projects in scope of work from 7.6 metres to 15 metres, involved in various support roles
  • Supporting the ancillary businesses with insight into trailers, yacht storage and sails
  • Work and gain skills in an exciting and dynamic industry worth 1.4B to the UK economy
  • Working with materials from traditional wood to the latest Kevlar and GRP composites
  • A working environment to encourage learning and skills development

Skills/Personal Qualities

  • Self-motivated, flexible approach to work; disciplined, organised and have a can-do attitude
  • The ability to use initiative
  • You must be able to follow verbal instruction.
  • You must be punctual, reliable and have a friendly, positive outlook.
  • You must be able to travel to Lymington to arrive for a 9am prompt start

Qualifications 

As this is a level 3 qualification, any applicants must have an A*-C/ 4-9 in English and Maths. We cannot consider an applicant that doesnt have evidence they have already achived this.
