Learning Centre Events

Adult Learners Week

Adult Learners Week is a yearly national celebration of life-long learning and City College Southampton has held events to mark the occasion for the last 5 years. This year is no exception with a visit from Steve Voake, author of books for children and young adults such as The Dreamwalkers Child and Blood Hunters and for younger children, Daisy Dawson and Hooey Higgins series. Steve has won a number of awards for his writing including Southampton's Favourite Book Award, English 4-11 Best Children's Book.

He will be here in the Learning Centre on Wednesday 16th May, between 10am and 1pm to talk about how he became an author, what he does when he's writing and he'll be running a creative writing workshop with students who would like to try starting their own story.
