Skills for Work & Life

This pre-entry course is designed to meet the needs of young people with a range of learning difficulties (including students on the Autistic Spectrum). It will provide you with a higher level of support for both your learning and to help you access college life and its facilities.

This course will enable you to develop your personal and life skills, so that you can make informed decisions about your options and take more responsibility for your lifestyle as you progress into adult life. It will give you the opportunity to improve your basic skills, information learning technology and independent living skills. The course is modular and your programme will be put together so that you only do the optional units that you will benefit from, for example vocational taster if work is your progression route. There are no entry requirements for this course, but all students will be interviewed and offered the opportunity to do various modules.

Optional Modules
  • Housekeeping
  • Cookery
  • Vocational Tasters
  • Careers Advice
  • Health & Safety
