Sunrise Nursery
Sunrise nursery is based at City College and is registered for 81 children aged 6 weeks to five years, of which, 30 places are reserved for City College students.
The nursery is split into Three different groups: 6 weeks - 1 year | 1-2 years | 2-5 years
Under 2’s nursery
Places for 9 babies aged 3 – 9 months.
Places for 18 babies aged 9 months – 2 years.
Over 2's
Places for 54 children aged 2-5 years
Lunch is served between 12noon and 1pm, and children booked in during this time will be provided with a cooked meal.
Curriculum details
The nursery aims to provide good foundations for children, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, and children's learning is developed through the following areas:
- Personal, social and emotional development
- Communication, language and literacy
- Problem solving, reasoning and Numeracy
- Knowledge and understanding of the world
- Physical development
- Creative development
Opening times
Monday – Friday, 8am-6pm.
Fees are payable over 50 weeks of the year. The nursery closes on public and bank holidays, and there is some closure over Christmas.
Fees
Sunrise's daily fees include:
- All bottle feeds for children
- Pureed meals during weaning
- Nappies and trainer pants
- Creams, lotions and cotton wool
- Breakfast club - up to 8.30am
- Mid-morning snack and afternoon tea
- Cooked lunch
Costs:
Morning (8am-1pm) - £24.00
Afternoon (1pm-6pm) - £21.00
Full Day (8am-6pm) - £38.50
Sunrise is registered with OFSTED. This enables clients to apply for a reduction in fees through the Nursery Grant when their child is of appropriate age. We are also part of the Busy Bees, Accor and Care4 Voucher Schemes, which may enable a further reduction of fees.
A non-returnable registration fee of £30 is payable in all cases.

Application and Admission
To apply for a nursery place, please complete the following application form and return to the college nursery or reception.
We endeavour to place every child, although priority is given to staff and students who wish to rebook children who are currently attending the nursery. Places are allocated on a first come first served basis, and availability of places is according to age. Early booking is advised. You will be contacted as soon as a place becomes available and visits can be arranged at this stage.
