About the course:
This revised course is for anyone interested in cake decoration. The course is for beginners to intermediate. The course will cover a wide range of skills and is 100% practical, starting with a demonstration each week. There are no assessments or written work and a college certificate will be awarded on completion.

Course Content:
The skills you will cover in this course are new this year. Not only will you finish your own Christmas cake with marzipan models, you will also finish off some cupcakes with a “Vintage” theme and “Flower Bouquet” theme. Make some chocolate roses and finish a chocolate ganache sponge. Finish off some Easter eggs and chocolate truffles, plus lots more. The classes are taught in an instructive but relaxed atmosphere.
No experience is necessary. All abilities welcome.
Entry Requirements/Qualifications:
There are no specific entry requirements for this course, just a love of all things cakes!
Learning Style:
All of the learning is practical in the college's new pastry and cake decoration facilities. Lessons are instructive while in a relaxed atmoshere.
Equipment Requirements:
Students usually buy small, inexpensive items of equipment as the course progresses, piping nozzels etc.
Some equipment will be needed. Approx. £40
This will not be required all at once and there is a small amount of equipment which may be borrowed. All of this will be discussed at induction on the first night.
Assessment:
There is no assessment for this course

Progression:
Students on this course can progress to one of the many other short courses. Bakery, Saturday workshops and Wired Sugar Flowers course.
Additional Information:
The fees may be paid in eight instalments of £65.00
