About the course:
This course is designed for those who have little knowledge or experience of woodwork but have an interest and desire to complete small home improvements and repairs.
Success Story:
A number of learners have successfully completed this course and enrolled onto a full or part time course.
Course Content:
The course will cover safe use of hand and power tools, basic joints, wood products and working methods. Staff will be giving advice and guidance on small projects that you might be considering in your home.
Entry Requirements/Qualifications:
There are no formal requirements, however you will need an interest in developing basic knowledge in carpentry.
Learning Style:
The course is practical in nature so learners will learn through observation and discussion.
Equipment Requirements:
Safety shoes and suitable clothing will be required.
Assessment:
There are no formal assessments for this course.
Progression:
Students may wish to progress on to one of the accredited woodworking qualifications, or another beginners course offered by City College.
Additional Information:
Students may wish to bring their own tools if required but all tools and materials are supplied.
