Nick Morrant, performing arts L3, has been accepted at Manchester Metropolitan University
The performing arts team draws on a wide range of elements to bring out the best in you and get you to specialise. Our very practical courses mean you will be involved in performance both within the college and performing shows at external venues around the city. This year the students took their show on the road and performed at many schools around Southampton, where they were very well received.
There are many career paths open to you in areas such as dance, holiday entertaining, cruise ship performances, music and media.

Progression
Many of our level 3 students go on to university to further their studies and some progress to specific drama / dance schools in London or abroad. One shining example is Lindsey Goodridge who has progressed to Cambridge University to study Dance.
Example Careers
Actor (TV, film or stage), dancer, choreographer, entertainer, singer, musician, theatre director, stage manager, drama teacher.
Specialist Facilities
At City College you will learn the tools of the trade by working in our brand new college theatre, workshops and studios to understand how performances come together.
How Will I Be Assessed?
You will complete written assignments and practical tasks.
Course information for parents
Level 3 (A level equivalent)
We have a range of level 3 programmes which are equivalent to 3 A levels (360 UCAS points). These information sheets are user friendly for parents. It gives you the main detail of the equivalence of the qualification along with an outline of course content, learning strategies, progression routes and a case study of a previous learner. This will help in forming what questions to ask at either one of our open evenings or when you come to a college interview with your son or daughter. Please click on the course link below:
