About the course:
This is a course for tradesmen who are employed and seeking a qualification or learners in work interested in getting training to enable themselves to prove their competant.
The Experienced Worker Practical Assessment Route (EWPA) can be achieved in Carpentry and Joinery as a stand alone NVQ Level 2. It's unique and a highly flexible way to achieve an NVQ L2 in one or two days depending on the craft area. It's generally open to highly experienced trades people who have and still are working in the Industry who are yet to have gained a level two qualification.
On site assessment and training (OSAT) route can be used for trades people with a minumum of Five years tade experience. Candidiates would only be considered with a minumum of Five years experience and still active in the industry.
Course Content:
Experience of Carpentry/Joinery with a reasonable standard of education is required. Access to an extensive work placement is a must, as you will need to collect site evidence for each unit.
Entry Requirements/Qualifications:

Learning Style:
mainly through observation in a training sense.
Assessment:
Assessment will be through on site observation (OSAT route) or at the college (EWPA) which will ensure you can remain on site and disruption to your business or employment is at a minumum.

Additional Information:
If on a part time evening course learners will be required to wear steel toe capped boots in the workshop.
