Fresh from selling out their home town concert at the Basingstoke Haymarket in less than 6 days, City College is proud to announce that boy band Concept will be headlining at The Hub on Friday July 5th.
Their show which was described by the press as “energetic, fun and extremely professional performance, from five very talented individuals” makes this a show not to be missed!
The acoustic boy band consists of five local lads – Matt Goodenough, Karim Newton, Ben Selley, Scott Dicks and Nathan Gittens - who are aged between 18 and 19.
Concept take their inspiration from five diverse musical genres, preferring to mix R&B, hip-hop, soul, and rock and pop to create something unique. Singing in perfect harmony, they body pop, rap, play the guitar and interact with their audience like they have been doing this for years says Emily Roberts of the Basingstoke Gazette.
The group of friends has known each other since the age of five, and they started the band while at Queen Mary's College, Basingstoke.
Last year saw them perform support slots for Example, Chase and Status, District 3, Marcus Collins, Diversity, Lawson, The Lovable Rogues, Stooshie, Ronan Parke plus their good friends Twist & Pulse.
The band - who has over 60,000 followers on Twitter and two single releases under their belt to date - also finished as runners up in the MTV’s Brand New For 2013 as well as appearing in OK magazine and Teen Now’s Christmas edition.

Music & Lyrics by Jeff Bowen
Book by Hunter Bell
An amateur production by arrangement with R&H Theatricals Europe Ltd.
Four friends. One original musical. Three weeks to write it.
[title of show] is a wickedly delicious musical comedy about Hunter and Jeff, two nobodies in New York who decide to write an original musical for the New York Musical Theatre Festival in three weeks. They soon realise that their conversations about what to write are more interesting than what they are actually writing, so the musical they are trying to write becomes the subject of their show.
With the help of their friends Heidi and Susan the two men explore the challenges of writing and performing their musical. Biting and inspiring, vulnerable and hilarious, the show chronicles the serious and the hilarious moments of following their dreams. This quirky Tony Award-nominated musical is perfect for anyone who's dared to dream that they can actually get paid for doing what they love.
