Fee Payment Options

 

Early Enrolments

Students can be enrolled on any full cost or co-funded course one or more months before the commencement. A deposit of £50 is required to secure the place.

 The balance of course fee can be paid:

  •      either by setting up an instalment plan (if below criteria are met) on the day of enrolment
  •      or by full payment being made, or an instalment plan is set up any time before the start of the course, by coming into College or telephoning/emailing Finance department.

 

Instalment Plan

The College offers students the option of spreading the cost of their course by paying in instalments.

 

This is an INTEREST FREE payment plan available for course fees over £100 and at least 8 weeks long.

 

Students can choose to pay their instalments on either 1st or 15th day of the month.

 

The number of instalments depends on the duration of the course and total fees payable. Please refer to the table below for criteria needed to qualify for particular option.

  • Fee Payment Agreement is a legally binding contract
  • Failure to pay any instalment when due will result in the whole balance of the course fee becoming payable immediately

 

Other Payment Options 

With express authorisation from the College's Finance Department, the number of instalments may be increased for courses longer than 12 months where full fee is charged at the time of enrolment. These payment plans can be tailored to individuals needs. Please ask our advisors for more details when enrolling or contact Finance Department as detailed below.

 

Refund of Deposit

Deposit is refundable after deducting the administration fee of £20 should the student withdraw before the start of the course.  For City Business short courses a different cancellation policy will apply.

Refunds Policy

This policy is issued in accordance with clause 2.6.2 of Financial Procedures. 

Southampton City College Refunds Policy must be adhered to in all cases.

The following will apply to refunds processing:        

  • When withdrawing from a course the lecturer must be informed.
  • Applications for refunds must be made using a Refund Application Form.
  • Applications for refunds must be received by the Finance Department within 4 weeks of the last date of attendance.
  • Refunds are subject to an administration charge, details are laid out below.
  • Refunds are made by cheque payable to the party who originally paid for the course.
