The Southampton City College website has been developed to best practice coding conventions corresponding with guidelines stipulated by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 (WCAG 2.0) and successfully XHTML 1.0 transitional valid.
We have also used Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool (WAVE) to aid in the web accessibility evaluation process, and to create an interoperable Web page for all users.
Browsers
The following browsers have been tested for compatibility:

- Firefox (Windows and Mac) v3.0+
- Safari (Mac) v2.0
- Chrome (Windows) v10.0

Readability Testing
Readability Testing takes the text on our web pages and gives a score for the most used readability indicators.

Text size
You can change the text size on this application to make it either larger or smaller via your browser settings. Some browsers will allow you to magnify the whole page. To change the text size, follow the instructions below:
Internet Explorer
- Click 'View' to open the View menu or press 'Alt' and 'V'
- Select the 'Text Size' option or select by pressing 'X'

We support a wide range of accessibility features and tools within the college systems, including "sticky keys" and "toggle keys". ClaroRead is installed on all 500+ student computers.
