The Learning Centre

The Learning Centre is to support all City College students and staff.

Where Is The Learning Centre?

The central Learning Centre is situated in R block, on the ground floor. Other small Learning Centres are available across college with open access computers. These Learning Centres are situated around the college in V block, and in the Woolston Maritime Centre  

When Is Learning Centre Open?

Term time
Mon 8:30am-4pm
Tue - Thurs 8:30am-8pm
Friday 8:30am-4.30pm

Holidays
Mon - Thurs 9:00am-5:00pm
Friday 9:00am-4:30pm

Learning Centre Services:

Finding resources

You can access the Learning Centre Catalogue (search for all our book, video and DVD resources) from any computer that has internet access by going to: http://heri.southampton-city.ac.uk/heritage/  

Borrowing

You can borrow up to 6 items (books, magazines, DVDs or other resources). You can keep most books for 3 weeks, and DVD’s, videos and some other items for 1 week. Items can be renewed if they are needed for longer. Please contact the Learning Centre.   

Inter Library Loans

If we don’t have a book, DVD, or journal article you are looking for we may be able to borrow from another library.  

Staff

Knowledgeable, friendly and helpful members of staff are there for you if you need any help with copying, searching for a particular book or using the computer.  

Computers

There are 42 computers in the Learning Centre all with Microsoft Office 2007 and Internet access available amongst other specialist software, 2 printers and 2 scanners.
