City Training has a broad portfolio of courses in First Aid and Health & Safety. If you are looking for basic knowledge or a more advanced qualification we have the course for you.
Would you know what to do if a colleague was injured in the workplace? Do you want to gain basic knowledge of first aid? Focus can train you to a nationally recognised level of first aid proficiency. The course is aimed at new parents to ensure you are ready for common childhood injuries, such as burns, cuts and bites.
We offer the following courses in First Aid:
- ASET Appointed Persons (1 day)
- First Aid for New Parents (1.5 days)
- First Aid Refresher Course (2 days)
- HSE First Aid at Work Certificate (3 days)
Health & Safety Courses
It is very important that everyone understands the role they play in keeping their environment safe for themselves and others. Our courses keep you up to date with health and safety legislation and requirements and are aimed at all levels from those involved with moving and handling, to managers with responsibility for health and safety in the workplace.
We offer the following Health & Safety courses:
- CIEG Principles of Manual Handling (1 day)
- Safer Moving and Handling of People (1/2 a day)
- CIEH Award in Health& Safety in the Workplace (1 day)
- CIEH Principles of COSHH (1day)
- CIEH Risk Assessment Principles and Practice (1 day)
- CIEH Supervising Health & Safety (3 days)
- NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (11 days)
Through our distance learning provision we offer two further courses. You can do the whole course from your workplace without coming in to college. You will be fully supported by one of our experience assessors who will guide you through all your workbooks and other course materials. They will also be on hand to answer any queries or issues you may have as you work through your course.
Level 2 Certificate in Managing and Safe Handling of Medicines
This course is ideal for those people whose job role involves them being responsible for the care of others who need support and assistance in the administration of their medicine. this could include care workers in residential homes, supported housing and domicilliary care.
Level 2 Certificate in the Control of Infection and Contamination
This course provides learners with the knowledge and skills required to control the transmission of infection and contamination in a healthcare environment. It will enable healthcare staff, such as auxillaries, care workers and assistants to reduce the risk of contamination in their work setting.
