About the course:

A one-day course on the theory and practical aspects of producing high quality, wet lay up laminates using vacuum bagging techniques. This course is selected from City & Guilds 24501 Level 3 Certificate in boat production, maintenance and support unit 6 fibre reinforced plastics technology for marine construction.


Course Content:
  • Vacuum bagging theory, applications advantages and limitations
  • Vacuum bagging consumable materials
  • Laminate and vac bag materials preparation
  • Lay up and vacuum application
  • Leak and pressure checks
  • De bagging laminate release and inspection

Entry Requirements/Qualifications:

This course is suitable for students already in possession of experience in the production of laminates using wet lay up techniques and who need to progress to producing laminates with improved properties i.e. virtually void free, even resin distribution, controlled resin fibre ratios and improved strength to weight ratio by the use of vacuum-bagging techniques.


Equipment Requirements:

You will be required to supply your own overalls &  boots/shoes suitable for workshop activities.
