About the course:

The Creative Media HNC is a vocational course, delivered using new HD equipment, in the TV studio, editing suite or classroom. The course is designed to impart the practical skills that you will need for a career in the media industry, as opposed to the theory.
Financially an HNC/HND is a far more cost effective than a degree. Given the high level of attainment set for the qualification, it is also considered that a HNC/HND in Media will enable learners to go straight into employment.

Entry Requirements/Qualifications:
You will normally need to have at least one of the following:
- a BTEC National Certificate or Diploma in an appropriate area
- GCE A Level profile which demonstrates strong performance in a relevant subject
- other related Level 3 qualification
- related work experience
- More mature learners may present a more varied profile of achievement that is likely to include extensive work experience (paid and/or unpaid)
Learning Style:
Mainly practical with some written units

Assessment:
Learners will work to industry standard briefs. There are no written exams.
Progression:
As well as progressing to the HND in Creative Media (Moving Image) , the course provides a wide range of transferable skills, such as effective communication, team work, multi-skills and meeting deadlines,, which can be applied to a variety of careers in the media sector.
Students may also undertake further studies at a higher level e.g. Higher National Diploma or Bachelor degree.
