About the course:

A one-day practical course for the production of composite mouldings.  This will be provided using polyester resins and a range of Aramid fibre and combination reinforcements. These processes will be using polyester resins and various forms of glass fibre reinforcements.


Course Content:
  • Good workshop practice
  • Mould surface preparation
  • Gelcoat application
  • Preparation and cutting reinforcements containing aramid fibres
  • Calculation of resin to fibre ratios
  • Lay up and consolidation techniques
  • Cutting grinding and trimming techniques

Entry Requirements/Qualifications:

This course is suitable for students already possessing skills using glass fibre reinforcements and who wish to progress to having both practical and technical skills laying up a combination of reinforcement materials containing Aramid.
