About the Course

This workshop is a one day introduction to managing projects.  It is widely accepted that for a project to be successful, there are some vital areas that need to be addressed continually by Project Managers throughout the project lifecycle.  This is for anyone who wants to understand the detail involved in managing projects.

Course Content

You will learn how to improve your project management practices and gain a better understanding of:

• Key characteristics of all projects  and project management terminology
• Roles and responsibilities of the project management team
• Using stages to manage a project and scoping the project early to improve chances of success

Entry Requirements

There are no specific prerequisites for attending, but delegates are sent a copy of the manual prior to the course, and pre-reading dramatically increases the chance of success.

Equipment Requirements

All equipment will be supplied by City Business.

Assessment

The Foundation examination is multiple-choice and of one hour duration. There are 75 questions, including 5 trial questions not counted in scores, 35 marks are required out of the 70 available to pass. It is in closed-book format.

The PRINCE2® Practitioners course conforms to the syllabus set down by APMG (the examination administration body) for delegates wishing to gain the PRINCE2® practitioner certificate. This is a two-day course with the examination on the second day.

Entry Requirements

Delegates must have completed and pased the PRINCE2® Foundation course prior to doing the Practitioner level.

Equipment Requirements

All equipment will be supplied by City Business.

Assessment

This course is assessed by way of a two and a half hour examination held on the 2nd day of the course. The PRINCE2 Practitioner exam is in the "Objective Testing" format, a style of complex multiple-choice examination. There are 9 questions per paper with 12 marks available per question – all question items will be worth 1 mark, making the total number of marks available per paper 108. It is an open-book examination (only the PRINCE2 Manual is allowed).
