About the Course

This one day workshop is designed for beginners or people who have some knowledge of putting hair up. Dressing Long Hair focuses on current long hair trends giving you the skills to translate them into beautiful, commercial, simplistic looks for Bridal Hair use in the salon.

Course Content

This workshop is ideal for those wanting to venture into the bridal industry, you will learn how to:

• Conduct a consultation and trial with the bride
• Create 3 bridal hair styles
• Place a tiara and hair accessories
• Use the tools and equipment needed & helpful tips & advice

Entry Requirements

Please note you do not need to be a qualified hairdresser to attend this course.

Learning Style

This course is split into two parts. The morning is spent listening and observing, in the afternoon you will work on the practice head, creating classic bridal styles and learning how to place a tiara and hair accessories.

Equipment Requirements

You will need to bring your camera to take photos of your before and after shots.

You will be required to bring a hairdressing kit for the practical assessments.  You will be required to wear a uniform or black clothing and closed  to all practical session’s.

Assessment

This is not a formally accredited course however you will receive a certificate of attendance. A handbook providing step by step course notes will issued on completion.

Progression

You can progress from this on to the level 2 diploma in hairdressing or level 3, depending on your previous qualifications/experience.

Additional Information

You will be required to wear suitable salon wear, which consists of black tunic/ top, black salon trousers and closed in shoes and bring your hairdressing equipment.

Enrolment Instructions

You will be required to have a telephone interview with a member of the Hair team prior to starting the workshop.

Course Content

This workshop is ideal for those wanting to venture into Hair extensions and you will learn how to:

• Conduct a consultation and aftercare for your clients Hair Extensions
• The art of colour matching for natural looking extensions
• Colour slices, weaving and plaiting using fibre hair
• Use the tools and equipment needed & helpful tips & advice

Entry Requirements

Working towards NVQ Level 2 Hairdressing or Level 3 Hairdressing.

Learning Style

This course is split into two parts. The morning is spent listening and observing, in the afternoon you will work on the practice head.

Equipment Requirements

You will need to bring your camera to take photos of your before and after shots.

You will be required to bring a hairdressing kit for the practical assessments.  The Hair kit and gun is available from Capital Hair and Beauty, Unit 7, Belgrave Industrial Estate, Belgrave Road, Southampton, Telephone: 023 80 55 33 80.
